How to add text to an image

Drop an image onto the box above (or click to choose one). Type your top and/or bottom caption — the preview updates live — then click Make image and download the PNG. Nothing is uploaded; it all happens in your browser.

Making a clean meme

Keep captions short so they don't wrap onto too many lines, and remember the text is automatically uppercased in the classic style. If a line is too long it wraps to fit, but two or three punchy words read best.

Questions

Is this free with no watermark?
Yes — completely free, no account, and no watermark added to your image. The caption is drawn in your browser with the Canvas API.
Do my images get uploaded?
No. The whole thing runs on your device, so your image never leaves your browser — it's instant and private.
What font does it use?
The classic meme look: bold Impact (or your system's nearest heavy sans), in uppercase white with a black outline, drawn at the top and bottom. The size scales with the image and long lines wrap automatically.
Can I add text only at the top or only at the bottom?
Yes. Fill in just one box and leave the other empty — only the captions you type are drawn. You can also press Edit text on the result to tweak it.
