How to resize an image

Resizing without distortion
Keep lock aspect ratio on so the image scales proportionally and never looks squashed. If you need a precise non-proportional size (for example a fixed banner), turn the lock off and set both dimensions exactly.

Do my images get uploaded to a server?
No. Everything happens locally on your device. Your image is never sent anywhere, which makes it instant and private.
How does lock aspect ratio work?
When the lock is on, changing the width updates the height (and vice-versa) to keep the original proportions, so the image never looks stretched. Turn the lock off to set width and height independently.
What format is the resized file?
We export a lossless PNG so sharp edges, text, and any transparency are preserved. If you need a smaller file afterwards, run it through the image compressor.
