Pick a start and end date to see the span between them.

The day count is the distance between the two dates; weeks and months are that span broken into whole weeks and calendar months with the leftover days shown. The order you enter the dates in doesn’t matter, and everything is worked out in your browser.

How to find the difference between two dates

Choose a start date and an end date. The number of days between them appears instantly, broken down into weeks, full months and the total day count. Swap either date to recalculate live.

When a date difference helps

Track how long until a deadline, how many days a project ran, the gap between two events, or how far apart two anniversaries fall. The weeks and months breakdown makes long spans easier to read.

Questions

Does the count include both the start and end date?
The difference is the number of days from the start date up to the end date, so a span from the 1st to the 2nd is one day. If you need to count both endpoints inclusively, add one to the day total.
How are months and weeks worked out?
Weeks are the day total divided into whole weeks plus leftover days. Full months are counted calendar by calendar, respecting each month's real length, with any remaining days shown separately so the figure stays exact.
Can the end date be before the start date?
Yes. If you choose an end date earlier than the start, the tool shows the same span as a positive distance, so the order you enter the two dates in doesn't matter.
