How to calculate an age

What the total-days figure is for
Total days lived is handy for milestone counts — a 10,000-day birthday, for example — and for any context where a single running number is easier to compare than years and months.

How is my exact age calculated?
The tool subtracts your date of birth from today calendar by calendar: it counts full years first, then the remaining whole months, then the leftover days. Because it walks real month lengths, the months-and-days figure stays accurate across short months and leap years.
Does it handle leap years correctly?
Yes. The calculation uses the actual length of each month and February's leap-year day, so a birthday on 29 February and ages that span leap years are counted correctly.
What date does it compare against?
By default it measures your age as of today, using your device's clock. You can also set an "age at" date to find how old someone was, or will be, on any other day.
