Why extract PDF text?
Sometimes you need the words, not the layout — to quote a passage, feed text into another tool, search it, or reuse it elsewhere. Pulling clean plain text out of a PDF saves retyping and keeps the whole document on your own device.

Is my PDF uploaded anywhere?
No. The text is pulled out in your browser with PDF.js, so your document never leaves your device. It's instant and private, which matters for contracts, reports, and anything confidential.
Why didn't it find any text?
If a PDF is a scan or a photo of a page, it has no selectable text layer — only an image — so there's nothing to extract. Those files need OCR (optical character recognition) instead. PDFs created from a word processor or export will extract cleanly.
